I'll tell ya what...I barely ever venture into these parts, but I'm really glad my minor interest in these die-cuts led me to wander into this thread...
What an amazing accomplishment. Not only might this be one of the best stories I've ever heard from a collector, but it also make me feel so much better about my own obsessions...
Let this be a lesson to all the obsessive collectors out there...we are not alone...
CONGRATULATIONS LEN!! |

...hey Anne...hope you keep stopping by! I know this isn't LOTR but to me, it's just like being in the Shire!
...thanks Mark...as a collector, I LOVE the varied styles and nuances!
...hey Keith...first, I hope you get to put your MASTER collection together soon...and I hope to see your ever-growing collection also...and, thanks for taking a peek...more to come...
...and finally...thanks for the kind words Kevin_26, I'm glad you hung in there and read the whole "making of" intro...being obsessive (as I'm sure you know) makes sharing this affliction so much better!

| The Hans Yim and Jaguar No No collections are very nice, so much variation with the Yim's. J-Roo's sketches just make me smile for some reason. And the Fetts pieces are nice and have an attitude all their own. I anxiously await the next batch. |

Thanks for sharing Len, I totally forgot this thread was here. My faves so far are the Cantrell with the goggles, that colorful artoo by datadub+tulip, and I've always regretted not jumping on that artbot Luke. That's my fave artbot so far.
You definitely have a fantastic collection and I like that we get to see everything in context. It really brings something to them that is sometimes lacking when posted all by their lonesome. Keep 'em coming!

hey all...
Sorry it's been sooooooooo long since I've posted anything about my SWG4 die-cut collection, but like always, life always seems to get in the way...
(as does my new addiction to DEXTER and the Breygent auto, costume, prop and sketch cards!)
So, let's add a few...
First, a new addition from one of the artists I've already posted...
DATABUB + MAD BARBARIANS
...and, had to remove one of my CHANMEN VADERS...(bottom right double) as I used it in a trade with Adele (9nightowl) for a cool Stephanie Yue LOTR Frodo...
okay, next up...
15.JASON ATOMIC
What doesn't come across on these sensational Jason Atomic pieces is the intense color, metallic shimmering paint and splattering of sparkles...
They are really "physically worked" pieces...

Stunning as always Len, thanks for sharing. My fave of this bunch are the JK5 pieces, hands down. I especially love the text one but they all have such vibrant color and a really graphic feel that I'm drawn to again and again. You're absolutely right about Jason's work, it has to be seen to be fully appreciated. I've only seen Jeff's stuff once before (I think) and my fave katope is the 'hen' at the top. Gorgeous cards, every one! _________________ Urrgghh but call me Jim

It's taken me a few days to compose myself for comments. The JK5's are exquisite. The Jason Atomics show such a great range. The Katope's are simply stunning. The rooster on the bottom right is one of my all time favorites, and a first to see. And the Kerry Lee's are just fun.
And those are the only other two Jeff McMillan's I have even seen besides the one I was able to pickup. Rare indeed! Congrats on getting two.
Looking through this, I saw many an auction that I had long forgotten. Great to see them all together! Thanks for sharing Len, can't wait to see the rest. |

Len!
Now I see, you are truely O.C.D!
Kudos to you, card-collecting dude!!
My favourites are the Chanmen and Katope Cards, they are remarkable!
I've not got a single Die-Cut card, but I appreciate the desirability of these beauties!
Happy Collecting!
Ben

...sorry I've been AWOL a bit lately...busy with a few projects and personal things but...
...thanks for the comps on recent additions Jim...love the JK5's myself and am proud to be included with him as one of the few sketch card artists in the new Suckadelic Art Card wax packs...last I heard there are loads of crazy inserts and one sketch card per box from either Jason Atomic, JK5, Jesse Moore or myself...and I'm proud to part of such an eclectic group...more info to follow in the G4 thread I'm sure (all related to the auction on 10/3)...
...much appreciation Keith...the McMillan's were truly a gift to find and I owe that person gratitude beyond measure for allowing me the opportunity to add them to my collection...
...glad to see you've found your way to this thread Ben and thanks for the compliments as well...obsessive compulsive is the only way to go with card collecting...!
...and Jason...it's an honor to add so many of your pieces to my collection...as Jim, Keith and so many other collectors who own your work know, these pieces are stunning in person as scans really do them little justice...they are resplendent in detail and shimmer with all the metallic playfulness of their energetic imagery...it's my pleasure to have them in my collection...
...in fact, just added this cool Atomic 'Greedo' (at quite a steal I'll add)...
...and I don't think I ever posted my large LP sized Jason Atomic Yoda commission from a while back when the G4 die-cuts first hit earlier this year...
...hope to post the rest of my die-cut collection TODAY as I'm home recuperating from a recent bout with a kidney problem...8 HOURS IN AN EMERGENCY ROOM before finally being admitted and then beginning a flurry of related tests...final outcome good but a few of those hours were quite 'interesting'... _________________ "Looking isn't as simple as it looks."
